Molto Moderato consists of two duplicate fifths played by the two-baser basses; the cell of II. Adagio is 3 intervals (a 7th, third, and foursome) sounded beginning by the violins; and the cell of III. Allegretto is 4 intervals (a sixth followed by collar fourths) played by the bassoons, violas, and double basses.
